My Favorite Rock

Missed church today...ya I got up at my usual time (early) started getting ready and very excited about hearing a good teaching and engaging in some fellowship. When my husband hollers form the other room "hey babe, what time is it?' My response "it's 9:15" to which he responded "my computer says 10:15!" Service starts at 10:30.....our drive to church is 45 minutes.......
We ended up eating breakfast at one of our favorite places, which by the way was sooo yummy. I had eggs benedict with no sauce and a fruit bowl. From there we went onto Twin Lakes and took some pictures and just enjoyed the fresh air. It was a beautiful day, the sun was out and the ice covered lake glistened like diamonds. On our drive back home I looked over to my favorite mountain point and once again it's  brilliance and majesty struck my heart, taking me into deep thought. I asked my husband to take me to my favorite place, so he continued to drive up the winding road. I must tell you when you go around that last corner and see the view, wow, it is amazing! I can never get tired of it, each time it's like a new experience, and each season has it's own glory. Anyway there is one particular mountain that I am speaking of here. It's called Mt. Morrison. It's elevation is 12,276 feet and it is formed from Metamorphic rock, which makes up the earths crust. It is said to be at a Paleozoic age, which means (ancient life) being anywhere from 541 to 252.17 million years old. It is one old big rock! I have been coming up to this place since I was age 5. My parents would take us camping here and all over this area, so I have a real love for this place, lot's of memories. Now that I am older and I get to wake up every morning to God's beauty I have learned to really respect nature and have a great  desire to be in it. But this rock........it's majesty takes me into deep thought. My thoughts wander onto my God and what a mighty, strong, rock He is. He is ageless and timeless and He is my foundation. I stand on this rock and He upholds me...He "is" my foundation.
Well into the evening we go and it is not the least bit dark. It will take awhile to get used to this time change. Enjoying this great day and now....back to other important stuff.
